Wellington Mt.
Several days ago I just met my friend who is a backbacker from Taiwan as well I knew in Perth, after sharing some information about Hobart for a while, she specially introduced her German friend that she knew in the tour. This female German has ever been to the Wellington Mountain by bus herself, and walked from the bottom of the bush track to the summit, it takes around 4 to 5 hours for return. Wellington Mountain becomes a famous scenic spot because there's a bird's eye view of the city Hobart. Considering the cost of the return bus ticket, I desisted to go there.

There is also a bush track reaching the summit from the foot, it's just like the most scenic spots having track in common. We rented a 7-seat RV, it's natural to drive directly to the top of the mountain. Because in the following 9 days, we had to circle the Tasmania, the schedule was tight and not easy at all.
On the way to the sumit, we met many cyclists going down, I guessed there was an activity held by the bike club. I was worried about their safety. The lane for going downhill is just on the side of cliff, the road is not wide, I was afraid they suddenly got scared, had an emergency brake and then lost control of their bikes when seeing our car in the curve. It was lucky my worry was superfluous, we encouraged some cyclists passing by. Joe even yelled at them : 「Go Go Go, You will make it」.

It began to rain when we got to the summit. We, five people didn't feel chilly in the car, the temperature indicator showed the degree outside the car was 4. We feared for the car slipping in the rain so just stayed to chat in the car and had a rest, waited for the weather to become better to go downhill. Besides our car, there was another 4-seat RV driving by some Koreans, I didn't pay much attention to them.
The following occurrence made us happy for a while. There were three female foreigners, looked into our car. I opened the window, found their clothes were wettd by the rain and kept shivering with cold. What I though at the first time was to help them. Just as expected they asked us if we could drive them to the city, I invited them to come into the car quickly. They were really fortunate, the 7-seat RV we hired has three row of seats totally, the two rows in the back can contain 6 people except the driver and vice-driver. At that time, there were only 3 people in the back of the car, we left our baggages in the backpackers because this was a short distane trip. Otherwise, there was no space for them.

On the road, they felt excitd and chatte, because they were lucky to meet us, I thought. I had to drive and they were far away from me in the third row, I didn't talk to them much. But didn't forget to introduce Taiwan, I told them that we're all from Taiwan, please spread some good words of Taiwan.
Actually they spent two to three hours walking on the bush track from the foot to the summit, the temperature droppd abruptly because of the rain that we never expected. If they didn't meet us, I really doubted whether they would get hypothermia. The mobile phone got no signal over there, I wasn't sure if they can dial out by the emergency call. They are Australians from Melbourne, look young. Though the wather of Melbourne in winter is pretty cold, no one can bear to stay in 4 degree raining day with short clothes. Another point that made them excitd was, my partners lived in the same backpackers as them, the same destination, they even didn't spend time on explaining where the way was.

On the way to the foot, I heared the sound of vomiting in the back, I slowed down the car and though of someone having carsick. One of them told me to keep driving, it may cause by the chill. When reaching the City central backpacker, they thanked or us and asked us if we needed money. The cost of petrol is not much, and we were in the same direction. We don't help people for money, so refused to take money from them. It's very happy to help people, especially they are Australian, such a special experience. The only pity is that we didn't take a picture of us for remembrance.
